Ultrasound
While urine hCG tests are highly accurate, they are not perfect. A limited OB ultrasound may be offered:

• to confirm a viable pregnancy,
• to identify that it is safely located in the uterus, and
• to assess with more accuracy how far along the pregnancy is.
